Minority’s Master Plan to Cleanse Majority – Opinion Re: #OromoProtests

Map: The Current Addis Ababa (Small Circle with Black Borders) and the Surrounding Oromian Regions Slated for Annexation by the New Addis Ababa Master Plan

The minority junta TPLF government has been designing and implementing a number of massacres and atrocities on the Oromo people – systematic evicting them from their land through tactful invasions, and degradation of the Oromo land through pollution of the Oromian aquatic system and chemical poisoning of the Oromo land; in short, misappropriation of all Oromo resources by all means from time to time.
In April 2014 the current invader of Oromia – the minority-based TPLF government announced the new “Master Plan” proposed by the Finfinne (Addis Ababa) City Administration. The so-called plan was finalized without having pilot discussions and/or consultations with potential stakeholders (the Oromo people – who are the owners of Finfinne, the Oromo farmers living around the city of Finfinne, and Oromo leaders and intellectuals), and the systematic move and central aim of the plan is not to bring development or better living conditions to Oromos. It’s simply to divide and disintegrate the State of Oromia into many pieces, to kill the sense of ownership and disfranchise the Oromo people. To that end, they have started to implement the Finfinne Integrated Plan to annex the whole of Central Oromia by the Federal government, and to make Oromos Internally Displaced People (IDP’s) and refugees all over the world.
The emergence of a few nationalists and Oromo students’ protests played a decisive role in transforming the Oromo struggle – providing it with an organized and centralized home-based youth leadership. Currently, #OromoProtests has revolted against the TPLF Master Plan, and TPLF’s tyrannical security forces have cracked down on the peaceful university students using live bullets, according to local and international news agencies.
After live bullets had been used on #OromoProtests in Ambo, Mada-Walabu, Wallaggaa, Haramayaa, Jimma, Dire Dawa, Adama, and others towns – which have reported dozens shot and killed, and hundreds injured by the TPLF junta, thousands more were also arrested and taken to unknown places. Peaceful rallies of #OromoProtests have increasingly spread to Diaspora Oromos in cities around the world, and they have organized peaceful rallies in solidarity with #OromoProtests, and to raise awareness that, with the new Addis Ababa Master Plan, innocent Oromo farmers will be badly affected, and to disseminate info about the ongoing killings, crackdowns and systematic invasions, and to advocate to human rights groups and individuals to make huge international impacts for justice and equality for all. Peaceful demonstrators are calling upon the independent media houses to highlight the neglected issues of Oromos.
The TPLF governance is very shallow. It is based neither on meaningful political principles, constitutionalism, nor on principles to protect and safeguard the fundamental rights of the people. Its terror machinery and mercenaries do whatever is possible to keep them on the shoulders of Oromos, and other nations and nationalities in that Ethiopian empire, and to safeguard the interests of their foreign investors.
The Oromo people call the master plan a “cleansing plan” against the Oromo people. There will be no more crime than systematically evicting the indigenous people from their land, making them homeless, scattering Oromo family members, manipulating their resources, trading their capital by the name of investments with foreigners, and largely dividing the Oromia Region into clusters.
